These were taken last month, when the PNP, the Fire Department, Emergency and Rescue Services were stationed for about a week or maybe more at the intersection of the Sta. Rosa Tagaytay Road and Nuvali blvd.
They even set up white emergency tents behind these canopies. Maybe they conducted demonstrations, I don't know.
It was a bit of a comfort back then, to know they existed "in the neighborhood".
Interestingly, on the same week of their presence, that road where you see cars coming from the south (Tagaytay), saw the same type of accident on different days. Specifically, I saw on different days, cars at the front of the line, bumped from behind.
My theory is that they were trying to beat the light, but made sudden stops upon seeing the many policemen and women under the tents, thus getting bumped from behind by the next cars. Quite plausible, considering the mentality of most drivers here huh?
Seriously, there have been numerous and varied vehicular accidents within this intersection and until a few meters away. Many involved were motorcycles.
But my title talks about recent crimes, as in this week. A new house in Santierra in Nuvali was robbed and the robbers shot at security guards. The news as well as our own village's circular states nearby villages have had robbery incidents as well. Again.
Would you know if the robbed house is near village perimeter walls, or is it waaaaay inside the village? I am thinking to buy lot, and due to this, I would have to add the location in my consideration
ReplyDeletehi ibyang so sorry for month-long delay, I really just read this now. As a rule I personally would not (and did not), nor will I ever choose a lot along a perimeter, especially if it is not certain what will become of the area outside the perimeter..e.g. future development. If it is a perimeter but the other side of the fence is a sister-village, then it somehow seems safer to me. You see, I know of many people already who have had robbers climb over perimeter fences...here and in Metro Manila. I don't really know where within the village this robbery was. All I know is, there are very very few residents in there yet.
ReplyDeleteThe week before your comment, first week of October, the other village--the one with all the mango trees...had 6 houses in one Phase robbed within 6 days. This village is notoriously huge, so it can be quite difficult for guards to rove. There are many places to hide. As for our own village, there was a robbery in June if I remember right, where the thief climbed over the perimeter fence, to get to the houses there. This was seen on one of the houses' cctv cameras.
Again personally, lot location is actually a major consideration for me, if I were to live in it. On the other hand---about the break-ins, we have taken precautions but also keep in mind that no village is 100% secure, wherever lots are located within one, especially when they are new. Remember too that many of these are inside jobs---or part of the problem is residents entrusting people with information about their homes. Poor innocent carpenters also get charged, because sorry to say, in the past construction workers about to complete their work, are the villains. WIth the way also people post on social media...it gets actually quite easy to invade their homes or lives. There's also a modus where thieves rent a house in a village for a while, and proceed to rob their neighbors! I hope this is helpful.
I am helping sell an Ayala Greenfield Calamba lot with an awesome view, as well as a lot in South Forbes Bali. Contact me if interested.
ReplyDeletewow, just learned that after the initial 6 houses robbed in one night in October, four days later 4 more houses were robbed in the hilly mango tree orchard village. You have a lot to consider, but with no real guarantee anymore.
ReplyDeleteYes. I guess the hilly mango orchard is not a good option. Is it at the far corner of nuvali, or is it (the village itself) at the edge of nuvali perhaps?
ReplyDeleteIs there anything the homeowners association doing to up the security?
True that there is no guarantee anymore, wherever u live (gated community or not). Now im worried about the lot i bought, its at the edge of village (perimiter) and next door (across the street) is a school. I guess wherever i buy, it'll be the same.
Thanks for posting. Keep updating us on roberries.
You are right...there is no totally secure place anymore. Even in villages where the governor, mayor, or other officials reside. Just take your own precautions. Make it difficult for robbers to target your home. The hilly mango orchard is owned by the same company but not in Nuvali. I hesitate to name it directly but it is popular enough you will guess it. I heard they did the usual procedures like change security agency..may put up electric fences...etc. But talk is it's an inside job. There has been, for years now, a modus where robbers rent a house within a village and do their thing. Could be the case there, because it's really mind-boggling how the crimes are committed.
ReplyDeleteHate to say this...but there has been a new spate of robberies this week, and an incident last week. In the hilly mango orchard. Terrible.
So your new lot is in one of two villages I am thinking of. Thanks for appreciating the posts. Please continue to post your notes too.
